Veteran Actress Eucharia Anunobi Loses Relevance
Before now, the Imo State born actress,
Eucharia Anunobi was a toast of every movie
producer who always wanted to have her face
adorned their movie jackets. This was in the
90s through the early 2000s.
Gradually her popularity started dwindling, but
she managed to keep afloat despite her
ordination as an Evangelist.
From the look of things, it's obviously the lady
evangelist has lost touch with her social life
and this has made the actress left the social
and entertainment scene completely. This is
because after the mention of her evangelical
mission in Senegal four months ago, nothing
has been heard about her again.
Sources even whispered to Nigeriafilms.com
that the Glamour Girls star has equally left her
Facebook account in a limbo for the past four
months. Her action for this is not known yet.
It appears that Eucharia Anunobi is focusing
her attention more on church services, and has
also dumped the idea of publicising her
activities.

Experts commend CBN over plan to change naira to paper notes
Lagos – Some financial experts on Wednesday
commended the CBN on its plan to change
naira notes from polymer to paper notes in
second quarter of 2014.
decision, but long over-due.
NAN reports that the polymer notes were first
introduced in 2007 with N20 denomination
and later in 2009 with the N5, N10, and N50
denominations.
Mr Muda Yusuf , the Director-General of the
Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(LCCI), said that the decision was well
intended.
He said that it was an error on the part of CBN
to have produced polymer notes.
Yusuf urged the CBN to be cost conscious in
the production of naira notes, saying the
polymer notes lacked quality as they faded
easily.
He also advised the CBN to ensure that the
new naira notes would have longer life span
for them to stand the test of time.
“I think there is quality issue with the polymer
notes because they fade so fast.
“If you examine some of the polymer notes,
you will be struggling to read what is written
on them.
“So, I think it is a better decision because the
quality of the polymer is so poor and it was an
error for CBN to have opted for the use of
polymer notes,” he said.
Mr Harrison Owoh, the Managing Director, HJ
Trust and Investments in Lagos, said: “I wonder
why it took the CBN a period of six years
before it detected the flaws in the polymer
notes”.
Owoh said that the move by the CBN to phase
out the polymer notes might be politically
inclined, adding that the CBN had been “foot
dragging” on the issue for long.
NAN reports that Mr Tunde Lemo, Deputy
Governor, (Operations) at CBN, on Nov. 21,
said that Nigerians would be handling a new
generation of naira notes by second quarter of
2014.
He said that the bank had earlier announced to
the public that it would change naira from
polymer to paper and that all the notes would
not be withdrawn at the same time.
“Nigerians will be having new generation notes
in paper in the next few months.
“We will wait until the notes wear and tear.
When they wear, and they travel back to
Central Bank, of course they will be re-issued,”
he said.
According to him, the life cycle of a note in
Nigeria is between six months and a year and
the CBN took that decision six months ago.
“I reckon that in the next three to six months
you will begin to see these denominations re-
appear in paper.” (NAN)
Tchidi Chikere Enjoys With His Kids After Marriage Crash With Actress Wife, Sophia
Recall that Tchidi Chikere and Sophia's
marriage hit the rock two years ago. The Imo
State-born dude took to internet to announce
his separation from his wife back then. Despite
the strain in his marital relationship with his
estranged wife, the top film producer is still
devoting time to be a good father to his three
boys, which his marriage with Sophia
produced.
The actor was spotted recently with his boys,
as he was doing what other good fathers do to
their kids- taking them out for recreation.
Though the children's mother was nowhere to
be found at the hangout, the award winning
film maker appeared happy with his children.
Zimbabwe to ban China, India, Nigeria, others from some businesses
HARAREc (AFP) – Zimbabwe will press ahead
with controversial plans to ban foreigners from
owning bakeries, barber shops, estate agencies
and a host of other businesses, officials said
Wednesday.
“Foreigners operating in reserved sectors of
the economy have been given January 1 as the
deadline to comply with regulations,” a
government official told AFP.
The businesses to be owned by locals include
bakeries, barber shops, beauty salons, estate
agencies, grain mills, milk processing plants,
retail outlets, tobacco processing, transport
and valet services.
The rules have been on the books since 2010,
but have not yet been enforced.
Long ruling President Robert Mugabe won
another term three months ago and has vowed
to continue with economic empowerment
regulations.
So far the drive to put Zimbabweans in charge
has been limited to white-owned farms and
some western owned businesses.
The January deadline is set to affect nationals
from China, the Democratic Republic of Congo,
India, Nigeria and Pakistan, among others.
Simon Udemba, president of the Nigerian
Community in Zimbabwe, urged the
government to reconsider.
“I would like to plead with the Zimbabwean
government and people to be considerate in
effecting this exercise,” Udemba told AFP.
“As an African and resident of Zimbabwe I am
particularly concerned if the approach will be
economically beneficial for the country.”
He said Nigerians in Zimbabwe are
contributing to the development of the country
and that they should not be forced out of
business.
“I believe Nigerians are providing necessary
services. Nigerians have been here with
Zimbabweans through all these years of
isolation by the West, they never deserted
Zimbabwe,” he said.
“They have been in Zimbabwe through thick
and thin, they live here with their families.
Nigerians in Zimbabwe are doing genuine
business and are servicing the economy
positively.”
“In my view there is no black African that
should be called a foreigner in any black
African land, we should look at one another as
brothers.”
